The James Rumsey Technical Institute (JRTI) is a technical institute in Martinsburg, West Virginia. It is named after James Rumsey, an American mechanical engineer and inventor from Shepherdstown, West Virginia. JRTI was started/founded on March 25, 1969. Serving the tri-county area JRTI has grown to become the most well known technical-education agency in the area.

JRTI offers seventeen high school courses. The school also staffs academic teachers for students who wish to attend James Rumsey all day. High School teachers are staffed in the four major area of studies; Math, English, Science, and Social Studies.
